CULTURE OF SOUTH SUDAN

The culture of South Sudan encompasses the religions, languages, ethnic groups, food and traditions of people in the African country. Towards the south of Sudan, one will find a more pagan and Christian influence expressed in the lives of the local populace, though Islam is not altogether absent. Christianity finds itself practiced in various forms of faith, ranging from Catholic to Anglican to other forms of Christian belief[citation needed]. Such faith may be purely Christian or influenced by traditional pre-Christian beliefs, depending on the individual follower.

The South Sudanese people are predominantly Christian or have traditional animist beliefs. These animist beliefs clashed with the predominantly Muslim north during the Sudanese conflict.
