Corpus Christi is known to many as the city in which Tejano superstar Selena Quintanilla-Perez, better known as Selena, was murdered on March 31, 1995, by the president of her fan club, Yolanda Saldivar. Selena's funeral was one of the biggest funerals ever seen in the state of Texas.
